Pictures

Optimus prime anyone?
Best d-day cake ever made! By these super-cool boys no less!

I just got my hands on the little flash drive that allows me to get pictures from my camera to my computer. So here are pictures that I have been meaning to put up for awhile. The pictures are totally out of order, but oh well.

This is from Dani's SUPER AWESOME black-light dance party that we had at our house. It was amazing - we moved all the furniture out of the living room and replaced every single light in our apartment with a black light. Tons of people came, most of whom were men, which was awesome, and we danced the night away, and wrote on each other with highlighters. So much fun!

This is a picture of the copious amounts of shampoo and conditioner that Audrey and I have in our shower. Its just us who use this shower, and somehow we have gotten carried away... I have a theory about girls - if there is an empty space somewhere, we will usually buy something to fill it. That is why I plan on having a small house when I grow up - otherwise I will go broke.

These are the matching lamb slippers that me and Dani and Audrey got around Christmas time. Dani won a pair at Hannah's bridal shower and then got Audrey and I some to match! So cute :) And that is the little chick that we got at the white elephant Christmas party that chirps when you place it on your hand. Surprisingly, that has been a pretty amusing gift.

Audrey and I went to a BYU v. SUU gymnastics meet awhile ago, and BYU totally won. I love gymnastics!! Its the greatest sport ever.

Dani and I made another fire in my metal trash can. We are seriously pyros. We will probably have another. But next time we should probably do it outside and not in the hallway.... I think we might have inhaled a lot of smoke. We certainly smelled very strongly like campfire by the end of it... :) It was so much fun!!

My new obsession

YOZONE. Its the Utah version of California's Pinkberry. I love it! The two flavors you must get are Original Tart and Mango Tart. And then put strawberries on top. That's it. Your mouth will thank you! (If you feel like something crunchy I recommend either the granola or fruity pebbles.) My wallet is mad at me however. I have consumed probably $15 worth of this stuff in the past 3 weeks. It 36 cents/oz.... So I have eaten 41 ounces so far. I don't even really feel bad about that. :)

FAIL Blog Submission

This advertisement just popped up for me after I wrote the post below... Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't think that chronically ill people should be spreading their body fluids around...

Oh Jimmer

So as I mentioned in a previous post, I have mono. A few weeks ago I found out that BYU's star basketball player, Jimmer Fredette, also has mono. I wish there was a connection that was related to our mutual cases of the "kissing disease". And even though Jimmer, unfortunately, did not give me my mono, that didn't stop me from telling everyone I know that he did :) It makes for a much better story.
P.S. if any of you could introduce me to Jimmer, I wouldn't say no. Just fyi.

Karma: I've been converted.

I would just like to say that the saying "what goes around, comes around" doesn't just happen to other people. I am experiencing it first hand lately. Its amazing.

For example, there have been several times during my college experience during which I have started dating someone, and I stop hanging out with my roommates as much as I usually do. This time, I am single, and many of the people in my life are getting into relationships, and they therefore are less available for hanging out. Its weird.

Another example is kind of vague, because the details are pretty sketchy, but things that I have done in relationships in the past, I am now experiencing on the other side of the fence. Its not like I've ever done anything malicious, but unpleasant things have happened... I don't think that can ever be completely avoided. And lets be honest, relationships can get pretty messy pretty fast sometimes.

Anyways.

My reaction to these things is interesting. Even though some of these things that are "coming around" are sometimes not like the greatest thing ever, they make me feel like the world is fair. Noticing that karma is no respecter of persons gives me a kind of sick satisfaction. It makes me smile.

But this also makes me smile. I believe it as well. Who knew that breakfast could be so wise?

Infectious Mononucleosis

Yes. My blood test came back positive - I have what is commonly known as mono, sometimes called the kissing disease. Unfortunately, I have not been kissing anyone lately. I wish I had been though, because if I am going to be putting up with this for the next month or more, I wish I had had a bit more fun to make up for this annoyance.

I have spent most of my holidays sleeping, reading, watching movies and generally behaving like a slug. My symptoms began soon after I arrived home for the break. I noticed to very large bumps on the back of my head that were giving me headaches and I had really bad body aches which I kept describing as "my bones hurt". Fascinating I know. The bumps are actually abnormally swollen lymph-nodes, and I have developed three more in various areas of my neck, which give me mild referred pain in the form of earaches. Add the days of nausea, bouts of dry-heaving, moments of dizziness, and lets just say that I am not a fan of this illness.

Also, my blood work indicated that both my hemoglobins and something else are low because I don't like to eat meat. Great. Currently, just the thought of meat will likely make me lose my appetite.

P.S. My phone is officially and permanently broken. They couldn't even salvage any of the phone numbers on it. And just so you know, soaking it in alcohol and letting it dry to get rid of the stuff that the water originally left behind doesn't help, but it was fun trying :) Please leave your phone number in a comment! Thanks :)
